Audition Materials

Auditions are due May 1st

Color Guard materials will be sent out by the Color Guard Director. You can contact them with questions: color_guard@byu.edu. Color Guard live auditions will be held live April 13th in the band hall at LaVell Edwards Stadium. For those outside of the area or who can’t make the in-person audition, you may send in a video audition, which are due on May 1st. A packet of audition information will be sent to you.

Piccolo

The Cougar Marching Band marches piccolos, however, you may audition using either a piccolo or a flute.

Clarinet

The Cougar Marching Band marches Bb clarinets. They do not march bass clarinets or Eb clarinets.

Alto Sax

The Cougar Marching Band only marches alto and tenor saxes. Bari saxes are not used except for the ROC (pep) bands.

The Cougar Marching Band only marches alto and tenor saxes. Bari saxes are not used except for ROC (pep) bands.

French Horn

The Cougar Marching Band uses marching French horns.
You may audition using a marching or concert horn or a mellophone.

All Drumline applicants should follow the audition instructions in the drumline audition packet, but may submit an additional audition on tenor if desired.
