Rocky Mountain Invitational

October 11. 2025
LaVell Edwards Stadium

The Rocky Mountain Marching Invitational is about excellence and opportunity. Participation offers students the chance to be recognized for the pursuit of excellence alongside their peers, as well as being provided quality evaluations and opportunities to observe other bands–all in a positive, affirming and celebratory atmosphere.

Bands compete and receive awards by classification (1A – 6A). The scoring system uses a panel of six nationally esteemed judges across the following categories: Music Performance, Music General Effect, Visual Performance, Visual General Effect, Color Guard, and Percussion.

Awards are given in the separate competitive classes with each classification being awarded the following:

  • Outstanding Musical Performance
  • Outstanding Color Guard Performance
  • Outstanding Visual Performance
  • Outstanding Percussion
  • 1st Place
  • 2nd Place
  • 3rd Place
