The Rocky Mountain Marching Invitational is about excellence and opportunity. Participation offers students that chance to be recognized for the pursuit of excellence alongside their peers, as well as being provided quality evaluations and opportunities to observe other bands – all in a positive, affirming and celebratory atmosphere.
Bands will compete and receive awards by classification, (same as their UMEA class). The scoring system uses a panel of nationally esteemed judges, each covering a specific aspect of the performance.
Awards are given in each of the separate competitive classes with each classification being awarded the following:
Tickets can be purchased online and at the gate.
Due to changes in the event, there will be two blocks of performances in the morning and evening. The stadium and parking lots will be cleared in between blocks and separate tickets will be required for the morning and evening performances.
LaVell Edwards Stadium has adopted a NO bag policy. Small clutch bags, no larger than 5” x 8” x 1” , with or without a handle or strap can be taken into the stadium.

Due to copyright restrictions, ONLY small, nonprofessional, single frame “point and shoot” and digital cameras are allowed in the venue. Family, friends, and fans, may take still photos of Rocky Mountain Events for personal use only. Please be considerate of the performers and the fans seated around you.
All forms of video and motion picture cameras and sound recording devices are STRICTLY PROHIBITED due to copyright restriction.
Tripods and other equipment that may obstruct the view or path of travel of others in the stands are also NOT ALLOWED.
