The audition materials on this page are password protected. In order to access the specific materials for your instrument, you should use the password emailed to you by the band office.
Color Guard materials will be sent out by Ashlee Taylor. You can contact her with questions: color_guard@byu.edu. Color Guard live auditions will be held on April 15th at 9 AM in the band hall at LaVell Edwards Stadium. For those outside of the area or who can’t make the in-person audition, we do accept video auditions which are also due on May 1st. Ashlee can send a video example and an audition info packet to you.
Drumline: Follow the audition instructions in the drumline audition packet
The Cougar Marching Band uses piccolos, however, you may audition using either a piccolo or a flute.
The Cougar Marching Band uses B-flat clarinets. They do not march bass clarinets or E-flat clarinets.
The Cougar Marching Band uses alto and tenor saxes. Bari saxes are not used except for the ROC (pep) bands.

You may audition using a marching or concert horn or a mellophone.
